| PRESENTATIONThe basic idea would be to give Lions Clubs all over the world the opportunity
and tools to be able to intercommunicate directly and more efficiently amongst themselves.
Thus making international co-operation simpler, more effective and with more benefit to
the Clubs. Many Clubs in Europe are looking to be able to sponsor a Lions project, which
they can directly finance. Not finding them readily available, the Clubs often end up
helping other organisations by financing projects from other service groups or charities.
Whilst this is commendable, it also illustrates the need to create the instrument by which
Clubs can access information on projects within the Lions infrastructure.
OUR ASSOCIATION
Lions Clubs International has already promoted this idea through the LIONS INTERCLUB PROGRAMME. However, whilst this programme is sound and there have been many instances of success, it has the practical disadvantage in that, by the time the Club sends in the project, and possible sponsor clubs request information, the opportunity has often been missed. With the Internet and the Cyber-Highway, information is instantaneous and Clubs or individual Lions, anywhere in the world can access the information at any time and study the viability of the requests from other Clubs. THE COMMITTEEVoluntary Lions would make up this Committee. A Committee in Europe and South America would co-ordinate the information and assist with communications. Once established, it shall be the Clubs that shall have the actual responsibility to organize how and when they would sponsor a project, and select which project suited their budget or the goals of the Club. WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVEThe premise of the project is not for individual Clubs to take on large projects, rather to assist other Clubs who might not have the financial resources to complete funding with a small or medium size grant. The Project must be achievable with the support of just one Club and, for that reason, it would not be anticipated that any project over $10,000 would be practical. The exception to this might be if funding from a third or even fourth source was available, such as the LCIF or a Government Agencies. WHICH PROJECTSFundamentally, it would be those projects recommended by the Association, especially those that might be eligible for an LCIF Grant or specially an International Aid Grant (IAG). We have divided the possibilities into 13 Groups. Obviously the Club that presents the most worthwhile and beneficial projects has more possibilities. In essence we would act as a market place, a shop window, whereby supply and demand can be satisfied. WHICH PROJECTS AND WHEREYou have two links where you will be able to look for a project: "Latin-America Countries": This page shows you all the countries involved in the Committee and which projects they are proposing, with all the information about the projects and how to help. Should you wish to target one particularly country, then you can do so and see which projects are being proposed in that country. "Projects": That page is a sample page that shows which kinds of projects can be proposed, to participate in the Committee activities and be liable to receive a LCIF grants. This helps your Club that wishes to become involved in a project to help children or the environment.

| PRESENTACIÓN La idea básica es dar a los Clubes de Leones del mundo la oportunidad y la herramienta para poder intercomunicarse directamente y de una manera más eficaz, haciendo la cooperación internacional más sencilla y más eficaz, siendo más beneficiosa para los propios Clubes. Son muchos los Clubes en Europa que están buscando proyectos que ellos podrían financiar. Al no poder encontrarlos, terminan financiando proyectos de otras organizaciones de servicio o ONG’s. Aunque esto pueda ser positivo, también demuestra la necesidad de crear un instrumento por el cual los Clubes tengan acceso a proyectos dentro de la infraestructura Leonística.NUESTRA ASOCIACIÓN La Asociación Internacional, ya ha promovido esta idea a través del programa "LIONS INTERCLUB PROGRAMME" Pero aunque el programa es bueno y ha podido haber éxitos en algún proyecto, la gran desventaja es que el tiempo transcurrido desde que el Club envía el proyecto a la Asociación, y que otro club que desea subvencionar un proyecto pida información, la validez de la proposición ha pasado. Con Internet y la cibernética, esta información es instantánea y los Clubes o Leones, de cualquier parte del mundo pueden tener acceso a esta información en cualquier momento estudiando la viabilidad de las solicitudes de estos Clubes. EL COMITÉ ¿QUE QUEREMOS CONSEGUIR? Fundamentalmente proyectos recomendados por nuestra Asociación, muy especialmente los que podrán tener una ayuda por parte de LCIF y muy especialmente del programa de Subvenciones de Asistencia Internacional (SAI). Hemos dividido las posibilidades en 13 grupos. Obviamente el Club que presente los mejores proyectos y los más beneficiosos para la comunidad serán lis que tengan mayores posibilidades. Esencialmente esto va actuar como un mercado, un escaparate donde la ley de la oferta y la demanda serán satisfechas. ¿QUE PROYECTOS Y DONDE? "Países Latinoamericanos": En esta página se ven todos los países involucrado en el Comité y que países ya tienen proyectos con toda la información y como ayudar. Si desea ver los proyectos de un país determinado, lo único que tendrá que hacer es entrar y ver lo que se ofrece. "Proyectos": Esta pagina es un muestra que enseña que tipo de proyectos podrán ser presentados para participar en este Comité, y los proyectos que posiblemente podrían recibir una subvención de la Fundación. Básicamente pretende ayudar a tu club buscar un proyecto adecuado, sea proyectos medio ambientales o Programas Juveniles.
