| TITLE: TO BUY COMPUTERS
FOR FIVE RURAL SCHOOLS PLACE: PANAMA COST: $ 15,060.73 COST FOR EACH SCHOOL US $ 3,012.15 Summary: The projects consisted in buying computers for 5 rural schools of
the 11 schools sponsored by the Lions Club of Chame - Playa Coronado, of which it is
possible to install telephone lines, and can be connected to Internet. The schools are
situated near the town of Playa Coronado in the province of Panama.
Description: All the schools are of the same type, with 5 or 6 rooms with about 100 students per school. The cost to maintain the project for two years would be:
In total the cost for two years is of $960 annually per school so that would be $9.600 en total for the two years and 5 schools. ($960 x 5 schools x 2 years). The local Clubs co-sponsors of Panama must commit themselves to the following points: Co-ordinate the qualification of the teachers that will use the equipment. To design to its cost, the information on use of the equipment that would be sent monthly from each school to the sponsor Clubs. Visit monthly during the first three monthly of the program each school to make sure that the system is working correctly, and solve any difficulty that could appear. Follow the correct spending of the funds given by the sponsors. To facilitate and to help to obtain the telephone line and the necessary access to Internet. The total investment for the 5 schools would be: 5 computers y and its accessories $ 4.960.73 Advanced training courses for 5 teachers $ 500.00 Costs of operation, telephones and others for 2 years $ 9.600.00 Total cost of the program $ 15,060.73 Cost per school Dollar USA $ 3,012.15 Objective: There is no doubt that the education of the new technologies will open to the doors to the work possibilities and progress to the new generation of these young people. To bet by the education is to contribute by a better and worthy future of these adolescents.
