COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS OF "EXLIBRIS NAZIM HIKMET 1902-2002" ORGANIZED BY ISTANBUL EXLIBRIS ACADEMY ASSOCIATION 1.PURPOSE The year 2002 has been declared by U.N.E.S.C.O. as "The year of Nazim Hikmet", Turkish poet. Our Association, both for the commemoration of the poet and prevalence of the art of Exlibris, is organizing an international competition with the support of The Ministry of Culture of Turkey 2.SUBJECT " Exlibris Nazim Hikmet 1902-2002 " ( All information on Nazim Hikmet can be found in internet at the address http://www.nazimhikmet) 3.CONDITIONS a) All the artists are cordially invited to participate in this competition with their work on the subject. b) The contestants may participate with 3 works at most, and 5 copies of each work should be sent to the Association. The works will not be returned to the participants, and will be added to the collection of Istanbul Exlibris Academy Association. c) The techniques that may be used are: xylography, cacography, lithography, typography and Serigraphy, where the dimension will be 10 x 15 cm and each work will bear the phrase " Exlibris Nazim Hikmet 1902 – 2002 " d) The participants will enclose their signed work/works in an envelope bearing the address of the Association. A short biography together with their addresses, phone, fax numbers and e-mail addresses will be enclosed in another sealed envelope bearing the name of the participant, to be enclosed to the envelope addressed to the Association. The works may be delivered personally or mailed to the Association address. e) The participants accept in advance that the jury will open the sealed envelopes, bearing their names, after evaluation. f) The Association will not be responsible for delay, loss or damage that may occur in delivery. g) The participants are expected to fully conform to the decision of the jury and all the hereby stated conditions. 4. DEADLINE AND DELIVERY ADDRESS The deadline for receiving the work is October 31 2001. First prize 1000 U.S Dollars 2. Second prize 750 U.S Dollars 3. Third prize 500 U.S Dollars The jury will meet in November and the winners will be announced in November 2001. All the participants will receive a certificate of participation. The rights of the prizewinner and other works (such as publishing or reproducing) will be reserved by the Istanbul Exlibris Academy Association. 6.JURY The Jury consists of: · Prof. William E. NORME PER LA PARTECIPAZIONE AL CONCORSO "EXLIBRIS NAZIM HIKMET 1902-2002" ORAGNIZZATO DALLA "ISTANBUL EXLIBRIS ACADEMY ASSOCIATION" 1. OBBIETTIVI L'U.N.E.S.C.O. ha proclamato il 2002: "Anno di Nazim Hikmet", poeta turco. La nostra Associazione, per commemorare il poeta e per promuovere l'arte dell'Exlibris, organizza un Concorso Internazionale con il Patrocinio del Ministero della Cultura della Turchia. 2. SOGGETTO "Exlibris Nazim Hikmet 1902-2002" (Informazioni sul poeta Nazim Hikmet si trovano sul sito Internet: http://www.nazimhikmet) 3.CONDIZIONI a) Tutti gli artisti sono gentilmente invitati a partecipare al concorso con le loro opere sul tema indicato. b) I concorrenti possono presentare al massimo tre lavori, 5 copie di ogni opera devono essere inviate all'Associazione. Le opere non saranno restituite ai partecipanti, ma andranno a far parte della collezione della "Istanbul Exlibris Academy Association". c) Possono essere usate le seguenti tecniche: xylografia, calcografia, litografia, tipografia e serigrafia. L'opera deve misurare cm. 10 x 15. Su ogni lavoro deve comparire la frase: "Exlibris Nazim Hikmet 1902 - 2002". d) I partecipanti accluderanno la loro opera/opere firmata in una busta indirizzata all'Associazione. Una breve biografia insieme all'indirizzo, al numero di telefono, ai numeri di fax e agli indirizzi e-mail devono essere inclusi in una seconda busta sigillata da includere all'altra busta indirizzata all'Associazione. Le opere possono essere consegnate di persona o inviate all'indirizzo dell'Associazione. e) I partecipanti accettano la clausola secondo la quale i membri della giuria apriranno le buste sigillate con il loro nome, solo dopo aver reso noto il nome del vincitore del concorso. f) L'Associazione non è responsabile di eventuali ritardi, dello smarrimento o del danneggiamento delle opere all'atto della consegna. g) I parteipcanti devono accettare le decisioni della giuria e tutte le condizioni sopra elencate. 4. TERMINE ULTIMO ED INDIRIZZO DI CONSEGNA Il termine ultimo fissato per la ricezione dei lavori è il 31 ottobre 2001. PREMI Le opere selezionate saranno esposte in una mostra. I premi assegnati saranno tre, il primo, il secondo e il terzo premio, che consteranno rispettivamente: 1. Primo premio : 1000 dollari USA 2. Secondo premio: 750 dollari USA 3. Terzo premio: 500 dollari USA La Giuria si riunirà a novembre ed i nomi dei vincitori saranno resi noti nel novembre 2001. Tutti i partecipanti riceveranno un certificato di partecipazione. I diritti del vincitore del premio e gli altri lavori (pubblicazione o riproduzione) saranno riservati dalla "Istanbul Exlibris Academy Association". 6.GIURIA I membri della Giurisia sono: .
